Concealed roller shutter systems for new buildings — certified by Passive House Institute
The SP and SP-E concealed-installation systems are primarily designed for new buildings, but can also be installed in existing buildings after the necessary modifications to the lintel. Planning such solutions at an early design stage allows the full functional potential of the system to be exploited.
These systems provide excellent thermal and sound insulation without interfering with windows, doors or lintels — they do not affect building energy consumption and integrate into the facade as an inconspicuous element. The front of the box serves as a base for finishing materials (e.g. clinker). Inspection covers and channels can be colour-matched to the windows.
The shutter curtain is manufactured from foam-filled plastic or extruded profiles. An optional insect screen provides insect protection while maintaining light and airflow.
The Passive House Institute in Darmstadt (PHI) has certified the SP and SP-E systems for passive houses with a box height of 165 mm or less. The components do not compromise the airtightness of the building. The systems are compatible with PHI-certified windows (Uw ≤ 0.80 W/(m²K), Ug ≤ 0.70 W/(m²K)).
